Bramble Cottage#

We have a small cottage -- Bramble Cottage -- that we let as self-cater accomodation. This seems as good a place as any to mention that "Braamekraal" means Bramble... well, "kraal"... Actually Braamekraal is the name of the entire neighbourhood; we appropriated the name for our own farm as a way to keep it alive in the face of newcomers who little value or care about the area's rich history and unique sense of place.

On the edge of the Knysna Forest, this self-catering cottage is ideal for nature lovers, hikers who want easy access to the forest, mountain-biking enthusiasts, honeymooners.

The cottage is fully equipped and self-contained, with cutlery, crockery, bedding, refrigerator, stove/oven, television (no satellite!) and en-suite bathroom. Braai (barbeque) facilities outside. All you need to bring is food and clothing.

The main bedroom sleeps two (double bed), and a small outside room is suitable for one or two kids.

Winter chills are kept at bay by a small Queen Anne wood stove in the lounge. Wood is usually available on the farm at a nominal price. We can, of course, also supply seasonal eggs, salad greens, veggies and homebrew.
